How We Verify Pay Data

Every pay figure on this site traces back to two things: what the platforms list, and what workers say they were actually paid.

Updated July 2026Applies to every pay figure on this site

Every number on this site comes from one of the articles published here, and each figure traces back to two kinds of sources: the platforms' own job listings and published pay pages, and documented worker payout reports — the screenshots and write-ups workers post publicly about what a job paid them. That's what the chart on the homepage means by "worker-reported."

What counts as a source

A rate goes on the site when a platform lists it, when a worker shows it, or both. Here is what we read, and what we leave out.

Source What it is How we use it
Platform listings & pay pages The rates platforms themselves publish and advertise for a role. The starting point for every range.
Worker payout reports Screenshots and write-ups workers post publicly about what a job actually paid. Checked against the listing; when they disagree, the payouts win.
Aggregator averages & job-board headlines Blended salary stats and marketing rates. Not used

We review platforms; we don't test them. Nowhere on the site do we claim to have worked these jobs ourselves, run a survey, or hold data nobody else can see. We leave the aggregator blends out on purpose, because they describe a different job than the one a student can actually get.

What the ranges mean

Entry tier

The ranges describe entry-level rates; specialized and expert tiers pay more, and the role guides say so.

Mostly US

Listed rates and documented payouts, mostly from US platforms.

Conservative on purpose

We'd rather you earn more than we said than less.

Rates change, so every figure was last checked July 2026, and each article carries its own "Updated" date. None of it is an earnings guarantee.

Seen different numbers?

If you have a listing or a payout that shows one of our ranges is wrong, tell us. Email with what you're seeing and we'll check it and update the figure.
